My name is Griffin Pivateau. I graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to law school, I attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University, where I studied Spanish Colonial America under the direction of well-known scholar David J. Weber.
In my law practice, I represent businesses of all kinds. I work on issues involving intellectual property law, employment law, and general corporate law. I have litigated hundreds of cases, from initial client contact through trial and appeal. Most recently, I tried a case to a successful verdict in federal court in New Orleans. You can find more about my law practice at www.texasgeneralcounsel.com. (Link)
In addition to my academic and legal work, I serve as managing director of Legal Outreach, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of transparent legal structures worldwide. The founders created Legal Outreach to fight corruption, promote openness, and encourage the adoption of written standards and practices.
In summary, I teach, try cases, write, travel, ride motorcycles, and occasionally play the guitar. You can contact me at griffin-at-legaloutreach.com.
